you belong to me
donald cumming is back in charlotte ronson's spring 2010 video look book. how can one boy be so tall, thin, and disgustingly delicious? someday i will write an essay on how i skipped the "dating-a-so-hipster-it-hurts-and-i-haven't-showered-in-2-weeks" portion of my life (you know, minus the not showering part) and i bet you any money the central thesis will be it's because i never did get my claws into donny.
"we'll get that peanut butter i like."
"at the deli. on ninth street?"
"uh huh, yeah. but that's not gonna keep us, like... that's not fun... the whole night. half the night, sure."

I still find it amazing that someone wrote a song that perfectly matches my true feelings at the exact time in my life that I felt them the most. Cannot wait to sing this song live!

"cause i only wanna be with you. yeah i only wanna be with you. yeah i only wanna be with you all of the time."

McGinley Creepers
Here's John and I on Opening Ceremony's blog @ the Ryan McGinley opening @ TEAM. Obviously this is before they got their citation.
HELP THE DEAD TREES
If you read my blog, then you already know that I LOVE the Dead Trees and have for quite some time. Dudes are recording an album right now, and they need your help! Please visit their Kickstarter page and pledge $$$ to help them make their album. These guys not only kick ass musically, but they are also genuinely NICE. The 3rd time I saw them live, they gave me a copy of their EP just cause I asked for one. And did I mention how CUTE they are? They have every flavor of hipster going for them: cherub in flannel, tattooed quiet guitar god, motorcycle mustache man, and quirky smiley drummer. How could you not want them to succeed? Watch the video below to get more info and watch out for cameos from all your faves: Fabulous, The Whigs, Wade from The Virgins, and everyone's favorite freak attack Adam Green.
I pledged my $$ today. Did you? DO it! Also catch them opening for AG at Bowery Ballroom April 23 and 24.

This is why I will always identify with CLove. She waited till the day after his bday- nice touch.

"Dearest Billy: I love you, I love your strong and eternal heart, even love the f**ked up gnarly amazing magnificent bigger-than-god louder-than-love karma of the songs you write and allow me to fly with.
We have again created beauty from the agony between us, all the buried and unburied anguish, all that is true, that is gold, that is meant to be is within this endless and somehow eternal cycle of Billy & Courtney.
I hope you will take my sincerest apologies for all the thousand ways I sometimes offend you, because I know you are a king, a prince, and my beautiful noble boy. No one will ever force my hand, nothing will come between the truth of what we are."
Eternal lovers. Eternal fighters. Eternal warriors… I love you and can never thank you enough.Your soul (and you know this)."

Style Icon: Aurel Schmidt
I love a hot, talented woman in glasses. Artist Aurel Schmidt's work is part of the Whitney Biennial. Her super-detailed drawings are usually mythical figures/structures made out of trash/junk components like rotting garbage, used condoms, and cigarettes. She's only 25 years old, but her "look" and her work will definitely be remembered as iconic of this hipster reality we're living in. And who said glasses weren't hot?3.15.2010

NYMAG: Ultimate NYC playlist

Of course I love this list!! And #12 goes to my boys.
This track was removed from American versions of 2001’s Is This It after 9/11 out of sensitivity ( “New York City cops — they ain’t too smart.”), but it’s less an insult than a tribute to street-prowling Droogs eluding authority. “I always took that song as a love story,” says guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. “The two people are together and the cops are fucking with them … There’s something about walking down the street as a gang. It’s a tough place. It gets you excited.” Casablancas first shared the song with Hammond on a train back from Hoboken: What’s more New York than that?
