I'm a sucker for a lo-fi band every time, and ever since I read Stranded last summer and discovered the merits of The Ronettes I can't stop listening to 60's-influenced girl groups. This girl Bethany Cosentino formed Best Coast, and I think her tunes are as good or even better than Lissy Trullie's. They have the California vibe that I love from Girls, and they just express teenage heartache with the sad hopefulness of a classic song like "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me."

I haven't been writing because I've been busy. Busy, busy. Every day I wake up and dream about the rest of my life. I pick paint samples and sinks from Home Depot. Because soon I will move and have a "nest" to fix up for my very own. And when I do, I will be listening to this:
1. "stick to yr guns" the cribs
2. "headdress" amazing baby
3. "slow faze fast" the dead trees
4. "lovin' cup" the rolling stones
5. "breaking locks" adam green
6. "a change is gonna come" sam cooke
7. "baby i'm yours" arctic monkeys
8. "please, please, please let me get what i want" the smiths
9. "left and right in the dark" julian casablancas
10. "stay the same" rod stewart
11. "any way you want me" elvis presley
12. "taper jean girl" kings of leon
13. "stay away" nirvana
